Kapi‘olani Community College, also referred to as KCC, is a public, co-educational commuter college located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The college is minutes away from the beach, Waikiki, and downtown Honolulu. KCC is one of the ten branches of the Â鶹Íø of Hawaii system, anchored by the Â鶹Íø of Hawaii at Manoa. The institute is accredited by the Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Kapi‘olani Community College offers a variety of non-credit programs, many of which are combined in revolutionary ways with departmental credit courses. It is home to the Culinary Institute of the Pacific and offers programs in business, health, hospitality, legal education, and arts and sciences. Besides the popular liberal arts program, KCC is also known for its strong technical, occupational and professional programs. Programs including health sciences, culinary studies, emergency medical services and legal assistance have received national credit.
The HIT program is designed to meet the needs for electronic health records and management in response to the national Health Care initiative. The six-month online, classroom, and lab course program is intended to train qualified individuals for employment in new roles. The course material for the program is based on the national syllabus designed to prepare a workforce to serve the needs of the healthcare industry. The employment roles offered by the Â鶹Íø of Hawai`i Community Colleges (UHCC) include practice workflow and information management redesign specialist, implementation support specialist, technical software support, implementation manager and trainer.
Kapi‘olani Community College offers online education for students who are unable to attend a traditional college due to personal and professional commitments. The institute offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in diverse areas of study. These degrees and certificates can be earned completely via internet. Some of the online education programs are Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (DPEM); Educational Interpreters and Assistants; Business Administration; Public Administration (Health Care Administration); Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting; and Post-Baccalaureate Secondary Teacher Education Program.
Students seeking admission to Kapi‘olani Community College must be 18 years of age at the time of application and must have earned a high school diploma or equivalency. Freshman students must send their completed application form along with their official transcripts and SAT/ACT score to KCC. Students seeking a transfer to the college must send the application form with official transcripts from all previously attended institutes.
International students are encouraged to apply for admission. They must meet the admission requirements laid by the institute. Students are required to send the completed online application form, along with all the official transcripts and test scores. Students whose native language is not English must take the test for English proficiency. Honda International Center at KCC provides activities, services, and support for international students.
Applicants must also meet the health requirements to be considered eligible for admission. KCC requires Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) immunizations and a Tuberculous (TB) clearance be submitted to KISC prior to the registration process.

Kapi‘olani Community College boasts an active and vibrant student life. The Office of Student Activities organizes a variety of activities, events and programs. It encourages the students to get involved in the activities to enhance their campus experience. There are several registered organizations and clubs on the campus. Students can either join a club or start a new one. Some of the chartered student clubs are Board of Student Activities (BOSA), Board of Student Publications (BOSP), and The Associated Students of Kapi‘olani Community College (ASKCC).
Student Congress is the governing body of the Associated Students of Kapi‘olani Community College (ASKCC). All KCC students can become members of ASKCC. Student Congress acts as the official channel between students and the College administration. It develops and implements plans for programs and activities that are sensitive to the needs and interests of the students.
Academic Advising and Counseling at Kapi`olani Community College helps students resolve their personal and professional issues. The counselors at KCC work with students to help them find the best path to reach their goals and be successful. The services offered include program advising, academic planning, transfer planning, career exploration and planning, learning assistance, and personal counseling.
The Disability Student Services Office (DSSO) at Kapi‘olani Community College is committed to a hurdle-free campus and provides accommodation facilities to ensure that students with documented disabilities get equal access to education. The TRIO student support services is a federally funded program that aids eligible students who belong to the low-income group, are the first generation of their family in college, or who have documented disabilities. KCC Deaf Center provides special services to students who are deaf.
Kapio is the student-operated newspaper of the Kapi`olani Community College.
Lama Library at KCC houses a large collection of books, journals, reference materials, magazines, and newspapers. There is always a librarian to help the students. The library offers several facilities and services to further enrich the student experience. Asia-Pacific Digital Library also offers a variety of online resources for the students.
The Koa Gallery is a visual art laboratory for the campus and the community at large. It is dedicated to serving as a rich resource and learning tool for creative excellence. The Koa Gallery shows the best works of Hawai‘i’s fine art masters and contemporary artists. It works as a catalyst in bringing the art and people together for more than 25 years.
Kapi‘olani Community College offers a variety of dining options for the students. Some of the dining outlets situated within the campus are Image of Ka`Ikena, The 220 Grille Restaurant, Subway, and the Cafeteria.
The Office of Student Activities organizes the UHM/ CC intramural sports program that offers an opportunity for KCC students to participate in the various intramural sports program at the UH Manoa campus. The students are encouraged to participate in intramural sports such as basketball league, tennis (singles/doubles), flag football, volleyball league (men, women), and kickball.
