The most popular areas of study are Medical Administrative Assisting, Dental Assisting, Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting, and Medical Insurance Billing and Coding. Programs focus on hands-on training and the development of the practical skills needed to embark on a successful career path after graduation. In addition to hands-on training, an educational experience here includes small work groups, flexible schedules, career placement services, and practical advice from qualified instructors with real-world experience as working professionals in the fields they teach. The campus is made up of computer labs, lecture rooms, a resource center, and a student lounge. Student services include academic and career counseling, cost-defraying employment, career placement, and a library facility.
The campus is located on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Outer Drive, in Dearborn’s Village Plaza.
Located in the Detroit metropolitan area and Wayne County, the city of Dearborn has a population of just fewer than 100,000 residents, making it the tenth largest city in Michigan. The city is quite culturally diverse for its size. The area of East Dearborn is known for the large range of different cultural groups, including a sizeable Armenian-American community and large Arab population, all of which live amongst each other there and intermix.
The World Headquarters of the Ford Motor Company are located in Dearborn and generate a large portion of the local economy. Another one of the biggest employers in Dearborn is Oakwood Healthcare System, where graduates can put their skills and training to good use.
Other local schools include a campus of the Â鶹Íø of Michigan (Â鶹Íø of Michigan – Dearborn) and Henry Ford Community College.
If students want to get away for the weekend, they can take advantage of the Amtrak services that run through Dearborn. These services provide relatively easy access to Midwest destinations like Pontiac and Detroit, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois.
